Pass-Through & Traffic Doors

Pushed Through All Day. Still Sealing.

A traffic door does two jobs at once: let a pallet jack through without slowing anybody down, then close flat behind it. Pick the wrong one and you buy a new door every year, or cold air leaks out into the aisle all shift.

Plan, install, service

Matched to How the Opening Gets Used.

We look at the opening in person before we quote it — traffic, temperature either side, and what has already failed there.

Insulated swing and slide pass-throughs between temperature zones, sized to the opening and sealed at the bottom
Impact doors that swing both ways for forklifts and carts — Chase Airguard among them: windows to see through, spring-back hinges that survive the hits
Hinges, gaskets, bottom seals, closers and full door swaps. Most fixes close and seal the same day.
When the opening needs a high-speed roll-up door →

A good door in a bad frame fails fast, so we fix the opening first: cold storage door repair. If the opening only needs the air slowed down, plastic strip curtains do that instead.

Project

55,000 Square Feet of Cold. Every Door Ours.

DCW Casing · Fair Lawn, NJ

Box-in-a-Box, at Building Scale.

A partnership of three natural-casing companies needed roughly 55,000 square feet of cold storage inside an existing building. We installed FALK insulated metal panels under the building’s existing roof and hung our own doors in the openings we cut.

Finished in 2025; FALK featured the project

FAQ

Cold storage traffic doors: questions we get asked.

What’s the difference between a pass-through and a traffic door?
A pass-through is a doorway between temperature zones that closes and seals after each use. A traffic door is built to be pushed through all day. It swings both ways, it’s built for impacts, and it closes itself. That’s why forklifts and carts never stop moving through it. We match the door to how the opening actually gets used.
Which brands do you install?
Chase and Senneca make the traffic and impact doors we install. We also install and service Eliason and Hörmann pass-through doors. If your job calls for another manufacturer, ask — if it isn’t a door we’d recommend, we’ll say so.
Can you replace just the door without touching the frame?
Often, yes. If the frame and opening are sound, we swap the door, hardware and seals. If the frame is rotted or bent out of square, we’ll tell you straight and fix the opening first — a good door in a bad frame fails fast.
What does a new traffic door cost?
It depends on the size, what the door has to stand up to and what shape the opening is in, so we don’t publish pricing. Call us and we’ll give you a budget quote over the phone.
Where do you hang traffic doors?
We cover all of New England and New York from our shop in Lakeville, MA — processing floors, distribution rooms, grocery back rooms. Major projects take us nationwide.

The Door, or the Opening It Hangs In?

A frame that is bent out of square will ruin a new door inside a season, which is why we quote the opening and not just the door itself. Repair or replace a walk-in cooler is the same decision written out.
